Today – in the final instalment for this week – I want to share with you one of my absolute favourite things to do, to raise my energy levels.
As a yoga teacher, I love teaching the Dru yoga in which I am trained. It’s like classical yoga, but there is much more emphasis on it being flowing and the way you get in and out of the posture (asana) is as important as the asana itself. I love the metaphor that gives me, about life.
And one of the other things I love about Dru yoga is that we always start a yoga or meditation class by properly warming up the body and shaking out blocks and stiff bits. It’s called ‘activations’ and it literally shakes out stale and stagnant energy, re-energising you and lifting your spirits. The brilliant thing is that you can do these activations whenever you’ve got access to your favourite music – and they really lift your energy levels.
