What’s on your mind?
How often do you “bite your tongue” or “hold your peace”, hoping to keep everybody happy?
Do you ever walk away from a situation, wishing you had said more?
Do “just the right words” usually come to you 5 minutes after the conversation has ended?
The problem with all this is it doesn’t really keep anybody happy. Sure, it might have prevented a disagreement, but who says that would have needed to turn into a row? And how do you feel, when you walk away, knowing you didn’t get to make your point? Usually it leads at least to frustration. If it happens on a regular basis, it can lead to resentment, anger and even self-worth issues.
But what can you do about it? [Read more…] about Is It Finally Time To Speak Your Truth?
Sometimes finding that silver lining to the proverbial cloud is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Find out why having such a rough week has been a blessing in disguise!
Here’s the latest Podcast from Clare.
This week’s motto?
Every cloud DOES have a silver lining, if you just quit looking for it!
I’d love to hear what you think!

Your ego says it’s not your fault.
It’s all the other person’s fault. It’s something they said or did – or didn’t say or do. Or it’s circumstances. Or it’s your job. Or it’s the government. Or even the weather. It’s definitely not your fault.
When given the choice between feeling happy or being a victim, your ego chooses “victim” every time.
But why? That doesn’t make sense? Or does it…?
“Be the change you want to see in the world”… (Gandhi – one of my favourite happiness quotes)
If you look at your life, your relationships, your work, your home, your finances, the world, are there things you want to change?
Do you catch yourself thinking – or even saying out loud – “I’ll be happy when…”?
If you do, this means you’re spending your time and energy focusing on what you don’t want – what’s missing, what’s wrong, what’s not working for you. Why is that a problem? After all, identifying what you don’t want or like is an important step in changing things, isn’t it? [Read more…] about Be The Change You Want To See In The World
Practise what you preach, girl!
That’s what I’ve been reminding myself this evening.
I was taking part in an important, 15 person conference call from home (UK) with people in The States. The schedule meant the call would clash with what we lovingly call “The Witching Hour”- the hour before the kids’ bedtime. But I arranged our day so they would be calm and Theo would probably sleep through it. Louis is generally good at amusing himself if needed with a few good jigsaws and his train tracks. So all was looking good.
20 minutes into the call, Theo decides to scream so loudly they could hear him (literally) from the USA to Australia. Then Louis – always the picture of health – vomits. Twice. I spend the rest of the hour cleaning up and consoling the boys, whilst listening with half an ear to the call via the internet in the background.
So how did I react? [Read more…] about Extreme conference calling…
